Voltage Problems!

Hey guys im just here going nuts.

I got a 95 dx d15 with d16 vtec head

Last two rainy days we had my voltage would spike way up then way down finaly killing the battery, once it dried up outside everything whent back to normal.

Now today was realy sunny and i lost voltage and killed my battery (battery is brand new, alternator is 2 months old).

There is no cel or battery light on any anytime, even when you cycle the key only the engine light and oil light come on (normal?)

My worst fear is something burnt out during the wet weather voltage spike, or eld is dickering me. (which i cannot find {just had fuse box apart})

also i cleaned and replaced all grounds
Cleaned and inspected all positives
Checked alternator conections
Checked every indevidual fuse in the car
Let the car cool and tryed with no luck

Any ideas would be amazing, thanks

Re: Voltage Problems!

Well if water is affecting it there must be a leak somewhere. Try to find that first; you should be able to find the problem with it.

Well that ain't right. The charging system warning light should come on at that time too.

Is the splash shield missing, the one in the wheelwell that helps keep water off of the belts?

Re: Voltage Problems!

Find the white/blue wire at the alternator plug.
Turn the key on (do not start the engine) and ground that wire, the charge warning light should come on.

If the splash panel is missing, water getting on the belt can allow it to slip and charging ability can be greatly reduced because of this.
I can't say this is your problem, but it's a possibility.

Okay i will try that, and belts are not slipping, the water causes a spike (to much voltage) and then a drop.
