1998 Civic DX stops when running, then will start but won't stay running OK, long title, but that's most of the problem. The car can be hot or cold (just started or it's been running for 45 minutes) then it suddenly stops...spedometer/gauges flip out at the point of "death," then the car dies. I pull over...note: the lights, the radio work, but the blower motor does not. While in this short-lived state, it starts easily, but won't stay running. I wait all of a minute (not enough for anything to cool) and then it starts and stays running.
Any ideas? Where would the short be?
