Rep Power: 0 Rear axle spindle 32mm nut: OEM vs Aftermarket design
I notice the rear axle hub nuts on my '92 VX are different than the OEM ones I bought at the Honda dealer. The OEMs are threaded all the way to the outboard edge of the lip, and the lip is thus thicker.
The ones on my car are not threaded all the way out to the edge, the unthreaded lip is thinner, and they are anodized a gold color.
The OEMs look like they may not be designed to have the outboard lip indented into the shaft keyway (for safety retention.)
Is there anything I am missing about about these two types of axle nuts?
Also, is the torque spec for both types 134 lbs/ft? (See 181 lbs/ft mentioned in some threads.)
Should the flat inboard mating surface be greased or not?
PS: PS Can either style safely be reused? Or are they "single use only"?

you can re-use them, as long as the can be knocked into the keyway so they won't back out. As long as they will thread tight to 134 lbs, you should be good. there should also be a washer with a lip that fits into the keyway so it doesn't spin, between the nut and bearing.
