95 civic engine loses power and dies at 3000 rpm
ok well when i drive my civic, at 3000 RPM the car jolts then it stops producing power but it still runs. the engine sounds like it wants to die but it doesnt, i press the accelerator and nothing. anyone have any ideas?
someone told me low oil, or the IACV...

it is possible that these 2 problems are not related. The problem with the 3k RPM threshold sounds like distributor related. How old is it. Replace if old. The not starting could be clutch safety switch or wiring to the starter. Just thought i would throw out some possiblities since no one has responded .

i figured the starting problem its the clutch safety switch i guess the padding fell off and when u press the clutch the switch isnt pressed.
the RPM problem still looms though...
