2000 Civic Sedan LX - manufacturer specs for ride height?

We received a citation from an officer who said we altered the height of our car more than 2" from the manufacturer's specifications. The owner's manual does not give the specs for ride height. Does anyone know what they are and where I can find documentation to fight the ticket in court?

So the car has not been lowered by you or any previous owners and he gave you a ticket?

Specs should be online somewhere. Maybe a dealer could tell you also.

If it helps you at all this is my Civic last year with new tires and rims. Original factory suspension with original spec tires and rims.

and where I can find documentation to fight the ticket in court?
Have your Honda dealership verify the suspension is either original or standard stock style replacement parts, and is not modified/altered/lowered.
Document their findings as necessary.

GolNat: My son was the one who lowered the car -- sorry! I failed to mention that in my post. I've looked all over online and in the manual, but will try the dealer next. Thank you!

Re: 2000 Civic Sedan LX - manufacturer specs for ride height?

Thank you, ezone. I'm sorry I failed to mention in my initial post that it was my son who lowered the car. I'm pretty sure he is within the limit of 2" from mfr specs, so I may just take it to the dealer to measure and document. Thanks for the suggestion!

Check your local bumper height regulations.

Where I live I believe the limit is 3 inches above or below stock.

Yes, it's 2" above/below stock here. Thanks again!
