Need Help Please

I'm trying to figure out if I'm being scammed or not. Any info would be welcome.

Let me start by saying I'm not really a "car guy" but love to drive and have fun while doing so. I bought a '99 LX for a good price with about 180k miles, shortly after getting it I needed an engine swap. Buddy of mine in a Honda/Acura specialist and did the swap for me. He had the engine and had been tinkering with it at home. He said it was a mod and fast, so I was happy.

At the time I was led to believe the engine was from an '04 EX and some of the work he did is as follows:

Here's what's been done to that engine

Shaved, polished and ported heads
30 mm valves
Aluminum pulleys
New crankshaft
New Moroso camshaft
Titanium push rods
New water pump
New heater core
New rear main seal

2 stage performance clutch

Well the ECM got fried and he had to enlist the help of another mechanic and now he's says it's an Integra motor. He mentioned a D33 (could have been B, reception wasn't great) but I can't find anything like that. I'm trying to sell the car and want/NEED to know the specifics. He's an acquaintance that I've known for 30+ years and give the benefit of the doubt, so I'm doing my own research before I go back and ask for clarification on the specifics.

I'm happy to answer any questions I can and appreciate any info. Thanks in advance.

Couple other things I can't remember

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Need Help Please

Not sure why the site ghosted your post, but here ya go.

Locate the engine code on the block, then google the code and check the wikipedia entries to see what cars it originally came in:

^D16Z6 is the engine code in that pic, the other series of numbers is the serial number.
