OK, quick stupid question
I thought I read on here some where that motors with auto trans, and motors with manual trans are not interchangable, is this true?

Re: Transmission compatibility question
Not a stupid question. They are interchangable. I took an engine that was mated to a manual and mated it to an automatic and put it back into the car and it runs great. It was in a 95 Civic LX (automatic of course)

the only thing is some of the sensors on the engines will be different. i know for sure the TPS on the throttle body is different cause a manual sensor on an auto will run like crap. not sure about any of the many others. the newer cars have even more sensors than the older civics too.
