Rep Power: 0 replacing stock radio on 98 ex civic coupe
Hello guys/gals I want to replace the factory radio in my 98 ex coupe with an aftermarket one. The car does have an aftermarket alarm . I am told that i may lose my alarm function if I replace it with an aftermarket radio. Is this true?? Or could I get a factory one from a 99-2000 which has a cd player and will it just plug in or do I need to worry about security? I did see a factory one in a 2000 ex coupe and thought it had a blinking red led. Im a 50 year old guy so I am not looking for a stadium sound system, just a radio/cd so I can play my 60-70's rock thanks

You're in the clear if you have an after-market alarm installed already. The stock 'alarm' and keyless entry go through the oem head unit. As does the dome light.
In a pinch you can make a jumper for the dome light if necessary. Hasn't bothered me one bit at this point on my 98.
