I am new to this forum. I have a 98 dx hatch anc i put in an aftermarket alpine headunit with an alpine ktp 445 wired up to it along with a 10w7 on a slash 500/1. when i first start my car and turn the radio on it dosent seem like my sub is hitting as hard as it should but when i turn my headlights on my stereo turns off then turns itself back on and the sub then hits like its supposed to. im lost at what to do. the ktp 445 is an in line amp that plugs into the factory wire harness then to headunit to boost the power to speakers. i have absolutly no idea what it could be. and ideas????

check the voltage at your radio before the headlights are on. sounds like its you alternator not giving it the voltage it needs. our alternators fluctuate power based on the electrical load the car is asking for which is probably why it hits harder after the headlights are on.

ok i will try that. i think im going to try and take off the ktp 445 too. it never did that untill i wired that up.

i would say the battery connection is bad check there. what about your brakes when you step on them do they turn on and off your stereo?
