I've had this issue for about 6 months now. First, the car would stall while i was driving it. It usually would start right back up. But I've taken it to 3 different mechanics and i can never get a straight answer.

I've replaced the idle control valve. An downstream O2 sensor (it was going bad), the starter, the map sensor...

it's only gotten worse. Now it cranks but doesnt start unless my Wife's father really puts the pedal to the metal. And then it only stays running briefly.

We thought it was the starter or solenoid because it always seemed to after he would tap it. Now with new starter it seems worse than ever.

Edit: The engine light isn't on anymore because my stepfather reset it. Now we cant drive it long enough to get the engine light to come back on to use a code reader.

I've tried using my code reader and nothing comes up.
