Rep Power: 0 CV Joint more input please
Hi,
Purchased recently and PO said passenger axle was replaced (boots look new). Driver axle boot look good also (examined closely for cracks)...but, the car clicks when turning at slow speeds. I believe this is a sign of a bad CV joint? Are there other signs, troubleshooting tips I can do?
I've read that when you turn and it clicks, that's the cv making noise, but I don't know which side. If I'm turning left and it clicks, is it the left axle or right?
thanks

Thanks for the info. Does not seem to make the noise in reverse, but when I turn in circles to the left, I can hear it, but not to the right. SO, the question is, is the bad bearing on the side of the turn (Left side in my case)? Just want to verify...neither article calls that out.
thanks

Hi,
So I replaced the driver (L) axle. Old axle was stiff in the outer joint. I'm still getting a clicking sound though when I turn L occasionally. Is there a way to check the passenger axle while it's in the car to verify that the PO indeed replaced with a good axle (though the clicking is only when turning left...
thoughts please
