I have been hearing some noise from the front driver side of my honda civic, it mostly happens when i go over speed bumps or just bumps on the road, I'm assuming it's my strut mounts? it's more like a grinding noise and I can also hear it when I push against the hood on the drivers side to make the car bounce. It's only on that side. Is this going to harm my car? what should I do? and how much will it cost to do this at an auto repair shop? (I'm a girl, I don't have a clue, this is my first car!)

I just joined today and I see you have not been answred yet.
Check for the noise with the hood open, see if you can locate the noise.
Might be a loose bolt or a rubber seal. If one side is doing it then it can't be good to let it go to long.

It's either the strut mounts or front LCA bushings, to replace both strut mounts should be around $150, both front LCA bushings around $200.

so I took it to my dad's friend's shop and they replaced the springs (they said they were broken) and bushings. Okay so I went and picked it up and drove it home tonight and the NOISE IS STILL THERE it's just not as loud as it used to be. I was so angry. I called them back and told them it was still there and they said that they didn't hear anything after fixing it and they would look at it again tomorrow. I'm so pissed off, I paid $400.

she brong it to the shop so if bushing r done on the control arms then they would take note
another thing u gota look at is sway bar linkage and sway bar bushing.
i went on a man hunt on my car just cuz of a noise that happen to be my linkage.
posible linkage that if u turn and go over a bump and the car doesnt make any noise
u only hear it if u go straight
