Rep Power: 0 2001 major electrical problems
I have a 2001 civic with unknown miles on it. Shortly after getting it the gauge cluster on the car started to intermittently not function. I talked to a garage and they told me that the gauge cluster was faulty. No problA em for me as I could fill it up once a week and use my gps as a speedometer.
I never did get it fixed and probably 20000 miles ago the car melted the ecu. I then had the dealer replace the computer, alternator, and engine to radiator support ground wire. I drove the car that way with the gauge cluster still malfunctioning for around 10000 miles and yesterday the new computer failed as well.
I'm wondering if there is a known cause for this problem. I have found other similar cases on google yet I haven't found a known solution to this problem.
I don't want to send the car to a scrap yard because it does have a new timing belt and alternator in it.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
