Rep Power: 0 Removing Remote starter/alarm - 2001 Civic LX
Hello,
I am getting rid of my 2001 Civic LX and I would like to remove the remote starter that came installed with the car when I bought it used. I would like to install it in a 2007 or 2008 civic which I plan on purchasing. Is there a way for me to remove and save this remote starter without destroying any of the wiring ?
I've tried searching on google for "removing remote starter" but cant find anything. I would appreciate your help or a reference to where I can find some information. Pictures and/or videos will be extremely helpful.
Thanks,
Al

It varies depending on the starter, you could just go through and detach any wires coming from the starters harnesses from your stock wiring and tape over the splice. But it will be fairly difficult to reconnect it in the new car since i assume you don't have the wiring diagrams that originally came with it. It'd probably be more worth your time to just buy a separate remote starter for the new car.
