Rep Power: 0 head unit dash kit
So I'm planning to start upgrading my sound system and I'm going to do that by first changing out my receiver to the Alpine CDE-121.
I just want better and eventually bigger sound with iPod functionality.
I noticed a lot of Civics are missing that small little door under the stereo when they have an aftermarket head unit.
Is it possible to install the new head unit in the stock bracket/harness/whatever it's called? Or do I have to change the mounting kit also in order for the head unit to fit? I want to keep it looking stock as possible and the missing door just looks a little weird to me.
Thanks for your help!

Re: head unit dash kit
I've had mine set up both ways. You can rig it in there and keep the door but the head unit will sit in the dash and bit and it can be hard to hit the buttons, it also won't be as secure.
The kits look better imo.
