4ohm amp doing 2ohm load?

would a 4 ohm amp be able to handle a 2 ohm load if its cooled with some fans so it doesnt overheat? i have a pioneer 2 channel and just found out it is only recommended for a 4 ohm load.

it is rated at 4 ohms for a technical reason if you run it at 2 ohms more than liekly no matter the cooling method it will overheat and shut down or go into a protection mode and need repair

^^^^yup, exactly what he said. it could be ran at 2 ohms without no problem, but after a certain point (loudness) it will go into protection or blow fuses. if you run it at 2 ohms and turn it up loud, more current that is allowed by the fuse and amp will be passing threw, so it will go into protection or blow the amp fuse.

Half the impedance, twice the power.
