Re: anybody have a 15 inch subwoofer?

I'm running a single 12" and people think I run 2 12's.

Try looking at crutchfield's canadian website.

Re: anybody have a 15 inch subwoofer?

My single 8 inch Infinity Reference kicks ***! Better then the 2 10inch Pioneers I had. It can rattle my car but its turned down cause I don't like that.

Get a good quality amp and sub with properly matched ratings and sub box volume.

Re: anybody have a 15 inch subwoofer?

So i ended up buying these subs
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...s-Package.html
and now im looking for amps .. im considering these amps
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...s-AR1500M.html ... how are they ?
Also if my sub has RMS power of 400 watts but total peak power of 1200 watts and i provide it with 700 watts through my amp will it blow my sub?

Re: anybody have a 15 inch subwoofer?

The sub is rated at 400 rms at 4 ohms so you want an amp that puts out that. 700 is to high.

Amp should be rated between 75% and 150% of the subs rating.

Re: anybody have a 15 inch subwoofer?

Ok, just making sure because you were saying sub(s) and the amps were single channel or the wrong rms rating per channel.

Re: anybody have a 15 inch subwoofer?

Yea that will be good. 500W is plenty. You might have to upgrade your door speakers and/or headunit if you haven't already. My system is about 250W and my stock speakers have a hard time putting out enough power to blend with the sub. I had to turn the intensity on the amp down to compensate so its not as loud or intense as I would like it. The stock speakers crackle also when I turn it up past a certain point.

If only you could go back in time 6years, invent the same products and install them in a 2001-2005 civic and post about it.
