Bass loss with Aftermarket HU(Head Unit)

Installed a Koss cd//mp3 player in my dada 91 civic. Lost all bass. Figured problem would go away with new speakers, installed 4 pioneer 120w max speakers. better sound still no bass. ok

Installed a Panasonic cd//mp3 player in my dads 99 caravan. lost all bass

my stock 02 civic reads CD-R 50/50, solution, get aftermarket HU, problem = loosing bass. will it happen? if so WHY does it happen? My bass sounds sick with my stcok radio and speakers (and sub), but i dont wanna loose all speaker bass. any help?

You're probably switching polarity on 1 or some of your speakers. If the polarity is backwards, you will feel like you lost the "bass" from your speakers.

yeah revearse polarity will still play on a speaker, but the biggest loss in sound volume will be in the lower frequencies.

wait wait wait. You were running a sub with your stock HU. With a aftermarket HU, how are you wiring it now?
And yeah loosing bass on all 3 HU doesn't sound right. Are you sure you set the bass level on the headunits?

SPUNKYcivy01 is an unknown quantity at this point
yeah check he headunit
Most come set flat, and u get to play around with them. Most decks (not sure about KOSS) have bass settings on them ranging rom 0 o the highest level. Check that.
Also, check your amp too. There may be a crossover issue on the amp. Its ounds to me like the deck though.
