finding some that fit is a pita.. i hoped my infinity tweets from my 600CS would fit, but they don't.. turns out the ones from the 605CS (newer) just might tho, and you can get them seperate from the component set they're 105's..

If thr tweets do not fit.. you could always shave the hole bigger and use the mounting hardware tha came with the tweeters instead of using the stock mounting hardware..

I replaced my stock tweeters with Polk Audio EX3's. They are mounted in the EX tweeter pods. The Stock ones have a screw running right into the center of the magnet to hold them in, the EX3's don't. To fix this, i ran some Loctite around the edge of the tweeter pod and glued them in. Now it works and sounds great, much better than stock. Hope this helps.

I'm curious to know, what's the size of the stock tweeter? Any one that's replaced them could measure that would be great!

Also, in case anyone is curious - Crutchfield just dropped the price on their Kenwood Z828 headunit (CD/MP3 playback) from 619 to 400 bucks. Just an FYI

for you with sedans i dont think you have tweeters. and you cant replace the tweeters wtih components...you must have no idea what we are talking about. we are talkign about the mini speakers located inside your front doors right next to your mirrors...

it you don't have the highs and lows everything sounds muddy and mixed together... gotta get good quality tweeters and subwoofers.. not to mention getting good speakers for mids.. which would of course be your 6.5's or 6x9's.

tsunami....

dont put too much hi's in the rear for a proper REAR FILL, a decent decent set-up (i think according to my readings & experience) would be a seperates on frotn & coax on rears

I believe the stock tweeter is 3/4" and that is what Crutchfield recommends. I have the MB Quart QM 218.61 with a 1" tweet. It fits but I need to figure out how to get the Screen on. Won't fit with Stock location. May need to do some cutting.

one lil hitch is those triangular mounts don't really allow for hole resizing.. and if i mounted w/ something else, i'd need somehting to cover that area since that's where the mirror mounts

so the tweeter size req'd to fit in the stock EX tweeter pods is 1"? that is the size the Polk EX3's tweeters are, and that is the size of the tweeters in the Infinity Component 6.5" setup i want, but i want to be sure the tweets will fit??

A 1" will fit, no worries with that. Some tweeters come with the grill on them already so you won't need to mess with that. My Quarts however do not. I need the mounting hardware to use the grill, but it doesn't fit flush with the tweeter mount on the mirror. I just purchased new mirror garnish(tweeter pod) from Honda and I will be playing with that to make it fit. They run $4.76 a piece from Majestic Honda. I didn't want to cut the existing one in case I ever want to sell the car and keep my audio system.

the tweets from the newer gen infinity should fit or so they appear (in the circuit city backboard they look small enough).. i however have a 600CS not a 605CS.. the tweeters in mine are physically bigger they have their own surface mount "enclosure" as part of the body.. so that makes it bigger... when i get the spare $ (just bought headers, etc), gonna get the 105T's (the tweets that are in the 605CS) that you can buy seperate... justcarspeakers.com has em for $74 for the pair
