I am looking for a Distribution Block for my amps. I want to hook up my second amp. Which one looks better? I know they arent the best brands, but I figure they will work just fine for what I want, and they use fuses anyways so I figure Im pretty safe from fires?.?. But which one looks better/sturdier/or is a better brand?

What is the deal with the 3input 0/1 guage wire, to a 2output 4g wire?? I dont understand why anybody would want to have 3 inputs? Seems like you would want more outputs. Can somebody shed some light on this? Here is a link to one

well a lot of times people use capacitors and those extra inputs help, and it gives you flexability with the install.

Both of the blocks look good so choose what ever you want, I would lean towards the Stinger dist. block.

^^ Another reason is depending on where you mount the block, it's easier to use one input than another just because of the angle you have to route your cables.. But pretty much, just look for any coated with a precious metal. They're anti-corrotive characteristics will provide a very small amount of resistance.. probably like 0.001 ohms or something irrelevant of that nature. Check out any made my stinger, street wires, I'm not sure if JL has come out with any yet but I'll look tomorrow at work.

I think my distro blocks are streetwires - I have two (one for power, one for ground) if you run multiple amps with caps, you'll need the extra inputs. Keep in mind that your system and vehicle may change - better to have the extra inputs and not need them than need and not have....

Yep.. Just curious because you said you have "distribution blocks" and I guess I took that as having more than one so I thought you might have a big system or something?

here's what I got:

Aline CDA-9811
Alpine MVRF-340 - powers Boston pro 6.5 comps (doors) and 6 x 9 Boston NX-97s (rears)
Pyle (can't remember the amp model - 400W) - powers a 10" JL Boxed subwoofer
.5 Farad Lightning capacitor run inline between battery and distro block

2nd distro block for consolidating grounds.

In my prior install I had a third amp - 6.5's and tweets were powered independent.

Ipod wired to the auxiliary input on the CDA-9811

Thanks for all the info. I will probably go with the stinger one. I have a 600 w RF amp, a .5 farad cap, and Im hooking up a 400 w amp soon. I need to fix some probs Im having right now though.

Can I use the same blocks for power wire and grounding? I need something for grounding I believe, my subs just started cutting out at normal loud volumes.
