speakers ???help me
i ahve 01 sedan lx and i want to replace my stock speakers in door and back with nicer better ones but dont wanna drop down a lot of cash. im planning on getting 2 15" solobaric subs and 4g wiring etc with 2 big *** amps and i know thats hella bass and i wnat my treble and everything else to sound good too. whats a good speaker that i can install myself that sounds good when loud and very clear i listen to alot of bassy rao and r&b but when i turn on some coldplay or lite jazz i want it to sound badass as well. well if you understahd what im looking for please tell me cause i have no idea.

please dont suggest any complex setups just plug in and play speakers like i said i dont have much money and getting deal on 15" solobarics (i want to be able to knock people over on street lol)

Rep Power: 0 well im thinking 400$ on subs and maybe 100-150 on front and rear speakers.. i just dotn wanna have to run major wiring and take apart everything. my dad's really strict about that ****. also. i need new speakers anyways cause my front ones sound like **** now the vibrate against door panel and make awful sound. as you an tell i know nothing about audio **** im only good with body work, and electrical ****.

Think about it. Your getting two of the biggest, baddest, loudest subs around and scrimping on the highs. All your going to have is shitloads of bass.
Figure $100 for wiring and another $150 for a box. Now that leaves only $150 for the subs. Never going to happen. And the highs. For $150 you can got a good pair of front speakers and thats about it. Plus you need multiple amplifiers to power all this. Your money figures are way off.
You also don't wanna mod the car too much. I dunno about that. It will be a trick to get those subs in the trunk. I would think you will need two boxes just so you can swing getting them through the trunk opening.
I think you need to think this over a lot more.

Rep Power: 0 i dunno buddy of mine an get me hookup on subs/box/amps 400$ hen i can get wiring 60$ and then install is free. or i can put all that money towards frona dnrea speakers but i dunno i dont wann spend too much cuas ei dont listen to music that much but when i do i want it to sound good. my gf has 1 12" RF sub and xplod amp and her just sound slike *** i think i mean it kinda hits but i would never buy that because i just dotn wnat mine to sound shitty. just gimme a rough setup of what to buy and forget money cause i can get badass hookups on just about everyting.

RF makes good stuff. Is it in the correct box or was it some prefab crap box not really made for that speaker? Is the speaker getting the correct amount of power? Is the amp tuned to equal the rest of the system? Also Sony isn't considered too good for car stuff. TV's, home audio, etc ... yes, but car audio no.
Also as for highs. Just get a sweet pair of fronts. Screw the rears. Hell take them out. I barely use my $150 rear speakers. Wasted my money really.
Think about super high end $50,000 stereo systems. They have 2 speakers in front of you. Why? Thats where they want to simulate the voice and music from. Like a concert w/ all the sound coming from in front of you. Music is mixed in two channel stereo.
Now think of an equivalent Surround Sound System. They have speakers all around you. Why? To simulate effects all around you and give you the illusion you are in the middle of the action. Sound is mixed in 5 or more discrete channels; basically a channel for each specific speaker.
Now apply that theory to cars. We have 4 speakers like surround sound but always listen to music that was meant for 2 speakers. What I learned was that for voice to sound really good you need the voice to come from in front of you. For surround effects, like symbols in techno, you want the sound to come from all the speakers. So I got this effect by using components on an amp up front and having my rears off deck power. And even then I am still fading +9 (out of 15) toward the front speakers. This way 85% of the sound is from the front but I still get some surround / echo effect from the rears.
Also an amp for the fronts is key. It will make them sound night and day better.
I love my Diamond Audio M6 components up front. Best I have ever had. It was a toss up between Boston Pros, Diamonds, and the JL components when I got mine. Others seem to recommend JL, Infinity, and other common brands quite regularly. Do a little poking through old posts. Front components post have been beat to death.

Rep Power: 329 MB Quart PSD 216's, Focal Poly Kevalars, Diamond M6, JL Audio XR are all excellent component sets....each run about $500 retail. Your going to want about 150 good clean watts to any of those sets of speakers for optimal performance. Doors should be re-wired with 12 guage speaker wire.
The subs will sound great if you can feed them at least 1000 watts each. If you are going to be getting two 15" solobarics, a box, and 2,000 watts for $400, let me know where, cause thats nothing short of a miracle unless it's heavily used or stolen.
And the vibrations in your door wont get better with new speakers, they'll get worse....louder speakers = more vibration. Get some fatmat to take care of the vibration. I think you might end up spending more than you want to to get what you want......and whats the deal with your dad not letting you take the car apart? It's yours isnt it?

Ok not the while trunk, you might still be able to fit a box of Lifestyles and a Pepsi back there too. Ha Ha.
It will also be a major ordeal if you ever get a flat or something. You'll have to wrestle it all out just to get to the spare. When I put in my 12" I got an extra 20' of wire so I can take it out and place it in the passenger seat while I get to the spare. We get lots of snow and rain here.

Rep Power: 0 well im 17 and i pay for the car but my dad's very controlling and strict. i used his name to get car so hes like its my damn car so far i have kit, rims, and neons. but anything else is pushing it but i can sneak some subs in there and he wont notice as long as i do it soemwhere else besides my house. i still dunno what i wanna do because like i said ^^ i dotn listen to my sterio that much. just when im pissed or wanna showoff to peeps in other cars. thats why im just thinking some m6's like listed above and fade to the front and put in some 12g wiring and amp. well i'll ask my hookup what he can do.

Aight Riley, here is my take
a. Sweet ride, nice to see a tampa boy represent on here. ( born and raised in tampa). The pics you got scream hot car. and lets try to keep it that way.
b. 2 15"s????? JESUS you must be 17, u dont need 2 15", You will have such nasty bass, no clarity what so ever. If u need loud *** bas s get 2 12" but in a car of our sizes 2 10"s are fine. U are going the right direction with kicker if u want solid bass. I had 2 10" kicker comps vr in a custom fiber-glass box in my last car, and they hit awesome (they are for sale if u want them and the box. PM ME IF U ARE INTERESTED.....GETTING RID OF THEM CHEAP!!!!) lot louder than some of my friends that had 2 12's. Why??? B/c i had damping in the trunk...which u will need regardless b/c ur trunk will go crazy!!!. And ur dad is a stickler about stereo...i feel yah i had the smae problem....but u are countering that with 2 15's.....man u got some *****!!
c. Aight now u know how i feel about the 15"s (JUST BUY MY 2 KICKER COMP VR's!!!!!). Lets work on some speakers. Aight with a lot of bass u want some good highs...for cheap huh?? Well everyone is right above...Diamond (awesome!) Mb Quarts (WOW!) Boston (AMAZING)....but they are all out of ur range...so lets go with ur range....I love ebay...USE IT BUT ONLY BUY NEW ITEMS. I just got a pair of 6x9 INFINTY KAPPA's for my rear and a set of 61/2 KAPPAS for the front (both 3 ways) I did not replace the stock tweet b/c i didnt have the flow right now. These things scream...without being powerd by an external amp....but with a lot of bass hit up an amp and wire it all up.
FINALLY, please and please listen to me here....DONT (DO NOT!!!) take ur car to a local shop on that is across the street from a burger king...not to mention names...cough cough (sivine dounds). They really did one shitty install on a few cars i know of...unless u are buddy buddy with someone that works there....dont do it. PLEASE!
ANYWHO...REMEMBER....PHIL IS SELLING A CUSTOM BOX (FIBERGLASS) with 2 kicker comp vr's in it....and he will sell it to u for less than the 15's.....and it looks awesome!!!! and WONT TAKE UP UR ENTIRE TRUNK!!! PM ME!!!!
