Installing aftermarket stereo in 2002 civic dx 1.7l

Hey guys, putting a new stereo in my civic, i noticed there's an anti theft light on the stock one. Is there anything i need to be concerned about when installing the aftermarket one? On my gmc sierra, a wire needed to go from the stereo to a fuse slot in order to power up and power off with the car being on and off. More so concerned with something going wrong with the anti theft and messing the car up. Let me know if i can just unplug the stereo and plug the new harness in and wire it up as normal. Also, will i need an antenna extention? Thanks.

**no subs, no amp, not into that ****, just a regular run of the mill usb/blue tooth stereo/radio same as i have in my truck.

Just wire it normally, the antitheft is for the radio itself, make sure you have the radio code written down if you ever plan to put it back in.
Do Not hook up the orange illumination wire. Just heat shrink the end so it can't contact bare metal.

Will i need to run a separate power wire to the fuse box? Or will all the wires match up to the harness?

Keep a close eye on the dimmer pair. 1 line is 12V with the lights on, The 2nd line is the dimming control (grounding)

Use crimp connectors or solder, do not twist and tape

What color wires are those? (I don't have the schematic but the connector harness normally has the propper matching colors.

Red and red/black.

All you need to connect is white/red (battery), yellow/red (ignition), black (ground), and then the four speaker pairs. And obviously the separate antenna connector.

^^^ Yes, RED/BLK goes to fuse #2 in under-hood box.

RED is the grounding/dimming circuit via cluster.

Reason for concern is, the cluster PCB traces can be damaged via wrong connections.

Was way easier than anticipated, just matched up the colors. My gmc sierra was way more complicated!
