Rep Power: 0 Battery light will not go off-any ideas
I have a 2001 Honda Civic and the battery light will not go off. Checked the alternator, battery, all associated fuses, cleaned the battery connections to the battery and changed the belt...light still on! Car stills runs with no issues (so far!) Any ideas?
Thanks Will

I have the same problem. My batt and SRS light was flickering so I replaced the battery, Alternator and belts, now the batt light stays on constantly. Output at the battery is 14.8V with car running and 12.8 with car off. Wierd thing is, the drivers power window does not work now??? All fuses are good, any suggestions?

if you changed everything and there are no issues i would just yank out the battery light bulb from the gauge cluster. at least it wouldnt be annoying you all the time.

Check for a bare wire in the engine harness, or it could be a bad ELD. I had an O2 sensor wire ground out and caused me to have a similar problem.

I know this thread is old but I wanted to post what fixed my Battery light issue. I went to the junk yard and pulled a Honda alternator and put it in and the battery light went out. Apparently the reman alternator I originally put in was keeping the battery light on, even though the ouput was good and charging fine. I guess you get what you pay for!

^ another good reason to buy OEM. You do get what you pay for. Thanks for the update.
That battery light in the dash is actually there to tell you something is wrong with your charging system.
