I AM AN IDIOT SO MOHAWK CAN YOU OR ANYONE ELSE HELP ME?? OR IS IT TOO LATE?

Ok i have a question about OHM's! if i bridge my power series 800 w 4 channel amp to 4 ohms then can it have my 3 1ow6's wired to a 6 ohm load? I'm looking at JL audios data sheets and rockfords sheets and they aren't helping me!

So should i run my 3 under powered 10 in a 6ohm conf. or run them in a 4 ohm conf.? or should i just toss 1 of my 10's?
i'm doing a custom install in my trunk! i have fiberglass laid and gonna put lid on tomorrow so i need serious help!

Also does pillow filling make a huge difference on sound quality? Much apreciated! dakota

first of all, we need to know if you have the 2, 4 or 8ohm subs.

He said he had 10W6's and all JL W6's are dual 6 ohm subs. I would run all 3 at 4 ohms

I'd say Run the 3 at 4ohm.. but your amps a 4 channel so that's not an option.... Sell the amp for a 2 Channel that's 4ohm Stable dude..... You AMp is brodgeable to 2x400Wrms at 4ohm..and you cannot run only 1 channel this will screw up the amp... As I said.. trade someone..or sell it and use the proceeds for a 4ohm Mono Stable 2 channel amp..

Cheers

Edit..it's late I start work in 6 hours.. PM me and I'll post a nice long winded descriptive post describing what Polyfill does..

Simple solution... Buy a Class D Mono AMP. Check out the Directed 600D or the 1100D stable to one ohm and its a one channel amp. You wont have to worry about trying to bridge a two channel amp to three speakers etc.. Just run them parallel to the amp and run then voice coils in series if you need to. I wan't really paying much attention to the speakers that you are using, but it doesn't make sense to me to use different speakers at a different ohm load. Use a identical speakers and run the parallel them so that each speaker is getting the same amount of power and the same ohm load.

Dakota,

Sorry about that. I forgot your setup can be wired down to 1ohm as well. a good 600Wrms+ 1ohm mono stable amp would do your electrical system much better. Also W6's are not very loud subs to begin with. These are JL's old SQ subs..the W3's bump a fair bit harder.

Cheers
