Pioneer p-6500 AM Problem.

I just recently re-installed my old Pioneer p-6500 into my vic from my Cavalier. Everything works fine but I get no AM at all. I am curious how AM is transmitted to the radio it self because if I remember correctly it isn't antenna specific.

As far as I could see every lead is wired to the harness and the antenna is plugged into the radio it self. I can get FM just fine and AM sorta works. I get a very weak staticy signal.

you could try a VW antenna adapter, they have an amplifier built into the adapter. if your going to try that you'll need a reverse vw adapter as well

I wish I knew why it wasn't working... Before I go out and possibly drop more cash on it.

well the two adapters will only set you back ~20 bucks. every car is different with regards to radio reception when an aftermarket deck is installed.
