Arrow Clarion...Good/Bad/So-So ???

Have any of you guys had any kinds of problems with Clarion headunits?
I was thinking of getting the VRX935vd but aren't really sure about their quality (like how long are they going to last).....have any of you guys had a problem with that model or with clarian in general???

clarion has always made solid simple products.... theyre not super flashy and arent full of useless features like other brands *coughpioneercough*

i've heard good things about clarion, alpine, and especially pioneer( ). imo alpine decks are ugly. clarion has a nice classy look, and pioneer has a futurey look, i don't know. pioneer is pioneer.

I have a Clarion Cd player thats probably about 5 years old.
It came out of a friends wrecked Accord (not her fault!) and its been in my Civic for about 2 years. The headunit is wonderful in terms of function. Everything works well; it even reads most of my scratched up burned cds.
I've recently had a problem with a loose ribbon; my headunit wont light up at all, but the buttons work. I'm thinking this is due to the accident. An easy fix. I would definitely buy another Clarion.

for the most part 90% of hu's you can buy will sound identical unless youre running a SERIOUS setup..

I have had 5 HU's in my 7thgen, and all have sounded basically the same, I change them for ergonomical purposes...

True to an extent, However in my opinion a medium to high range Eclipse HU, will give u a much much cleaner sound than say a Kenwood or Medium price range Pioneer or JVC.

Most HUs sound the same, so look for other things like display color, features, and readability of CDs.

the 02 and 03 clarions have really gone down in sound quality.

the older ones are amazingly crisp and clear. back in 00 and 01, i would have gone with clarion. but now for the price, i'd go with pioneer.

alpine is always a good choice.

i'd probably put speedholes in my car before i get a panasonic or kenwood deck

i will agree! i bought one in february thinking it was going to be awsome, considering the price i paid, but it ended up not to be what i expected. it sounded like ****. i took it back and got a kenwood.

I am willing to bet it was your inability to use the built in EQ and other sound shaping features that made it sound like ****.

Like Ludlam said, 90% of headunits will sound same if you bypass all their equalizers and whatnot.

IDQcivic should not be trusted
I've got the DXZ835MP.... its great, it changes to like a million different colors, it plays MP3 CD's and has AUX inputs.... it sounds great too.. I have everything set flat on the head unit and just use my amps to set the proper levels. I would recommend Clarion all the way....

I have the Clarion VRX935VD and I don't regret anything, I get mad complements everywhere I go and it works like a charm. I love it and recomend it highly.

BTW if you want pictures of in dash I can take some tomorrow and you can PM me with more questions if you want.
