Cold air help

I need to know what is the best cold air intake for my 07 civic lx. i have goten so many mixed answers from friends. also some say they reduce the engine life is that true?

The answer for this question depends on what you want to do. A full blown intake system is really the best way to go if you want to be a perfectionist, but a short ram system is very efficient, and much easier to install! Ive never heard of cold air intakes lowering life expectancy on a motor, but they are not so good for colder conditions. I have a short ram on mine, and in the winter (being I live in upstate ny) I put my oem intake back on in the winter.

the filter is the biggest difference. if you use better filters, engine does not suffer from impurities going in the engine but have more air going in. The piping many say that does not matter except for problems in installing. Search the forum...

FYI, cold air intake are not forced induction, which is the forum you posted...
