Are KYB GR-2's or Tokico blues stiffer?

I searched the forum and this question was asked a bunch but not for stock height. I'm not lowering my car and will be reusing the stock coils. Tokicos are surprisingly cheaper but they are both comparible.

I'm not asking about "better", I'm asking about stiffer. I assume any aftermarket shock will be stiffer than OEM and i use this car for long highway drives so i don't want something jarring. At stock height and stock coils, which shock is stiffer?

Re: Are KYB GR-2's or Tokico blues stiffer?

Does anyone here have Tokicos on stock coils? Im wondering if they're stiff to the point of jarring. Some stiff shocks have good dampering so provide a good, smooth ride. Am i to assume the GR2's would be smoother with a better damper?

Re: Are KYB GR-2's or Tokico blues stiffer?

you will have overdampened system with the blues in stock coils.
civic members are not prone to come back to report how long they lasted or how good they are, so honestly we don't have enough datapoints.
What i know from the miata world is that GR2's are stock replacement, lasts around 30-40k miles and can't handle stiffer springs
Blues on miata world are crap. Civic models of the blues are much better and can handle well stiffer springs.
how well they will match spring/damper is unknown to me.

Re: Are KYB GR-2's or Tokico blues stiffer?

Oh, gotcha. So i guess GR2's are the best tuned shock for stock coils, huh?

that's what i suppose they are, but did not hear much about the 8/9th generation version, so take that with a grain of salt.
should be good, though.
Blues are for who want to upgrade springs
