Talking What's your beer(s) of choice?

My personal fave right now is Hoegaarden. Doesn't have that hoppy bitter sting when you drink it.

This topic is win

Here's all the beers that have been mentioned in the positive sense, plus a few I added in. All organized by where they're from, and their alcohol percentages attached. I googled all the ABV (alcohol by volume), so if you see something that's wrong, let me know. I will also update this list as the thread goes on and more beers are introduced.

Re: What's your beer(s) of choice?

Okay, so as I answered this thread, I came to the realization that I am an alcoholic, here's why:

I had to distinguish the difference between my "average daily or every-other-day beer" and the gourmet ****! LOL

So for average brewski that isn't rotgut-swill and eats through my esophagus from the indigestion (aka budweiser, miller and all lite beers), I like to drink either heineken or corona. My tru love is Belgian-style abbey beers which range in alcohol content from 7%--11% but can be more pricey. A few good Belgian brews (besides Hoegaarden) are Chimay, Duvel, and one of my harder-to-find favorites: Kasteel triple (11% alcohol and smooth like butter!!!)

God-damn I'm such an alcoholic! O yeah, btw, Please don't drink and drive y'all!

Mad respect. haha..

I don't see you as an alcoholic. I see you as a beer connoisseur. Mainly because I'm in the same boat you're in.. Haha

Chimay and Duvel are hella good beers. I'll have to try the Kasteel triple. I think the only high alcohol content beers I've had are the trappistes 10 and 12's.. Those tasted kinda like champagne with a good beer aftertaste.. Oh, and Arrogant bastard and double bastard. Those had such a hoppy taste it kicked my *** though.

I group my beers like this: "party" beers (bud, bud light, corona, etc), and everything else. The everything else group is sub-divided into more-or-less the regular groups. My party beer of choice is corona with lime though.

Word. I thought I was the only connoisseur (ahem, alcoholic) on these boards!! LOL Gotta love corona with lime, esp in the summertime! Haven't tried the arrogant bastard's series yet, but I do like hoppy beers too. U should try Mojo, it's a pale-ale with a hint of citrus aftertaste. Btw, you get extra credit for knowing how the hell to spell "connoisseur!"

Re: What's your beer(s) of choice?

I must admit, my friend google helped me a little with the spelling. hahaha

On the arrogant bastard bottle, the first line in the little paragraph on it is "you will not like this beer." followed by something along the lines of "it takes a sophisticated taste to enjoy this beer." Tastes good, but a bit hoppy for me. I'll have to try that mojo though. hmm..

And I was a Navy man. Gotsta know my alcohols (and yes, rum is my liquor of choice. )

I'm attempting to bring the OT forum back to its glory days. haha

Lee's Discount Liquor here in Vegas didn't have Kilkenny

Their beer guy laughed and said "good luck" when I asked him if he knew where I could find it in Vegas..

However, in my trip there, I acquired 2 more beers. I still maintain I'm a connoisseur

Re: What's your beer(s) of choice?

It's not beer related but you said you were a rum man. Any good rums you'd recommend? I'm a whiskey man who's unfortunately a college student so I've tried all the cheaper whiskeys. Good rums are suppose to be cheaper than good whiskeys.

Re: What's your beer(s) of choice?

I like cap'n private stock the best. I really can't go wrong with a little cap'n in me. lol

I just tried the lime bite, too, and that was pretty good. Sailor Jerry is like captain, but 92 proof and a bit more flavor

Come to think of it, I haven't ventured far from captain morgan's if it was by choice..

That's the difference between an alcoholic and a connoisseur

Re: What's your beer(s) of choice?

Drinking Jose makes me want to fight people. Usually I do.

I'm going to pick up a bottle of Sailor Jerry. It sounds about my speed. I've been trying to acquaint my taste to Bacardi because you can't beat $9.99 for a bottle.

On the beer note, has anyone tried double chocolate stout floats?

Re: What's your beer(s) of choice?

Purple label, random bit of orange? I think I had it once. That's all I got.. lol

If you like coffee, you should try Kona Brewing Company's Pipeline Porter. Tastes like you put a bit of a porter in a cup of coffee.. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but I found it tasty as hell

Actually, I think the BEST beer I've ever had was one of my buddy's homebrew scotch ales.. Tasty as hell, smoother than anything I've ever had, no harsh aftertaste, could chug it like it was water (but if one did, I'd have to deliver a swift kick to the groin), 10.2% alcohol..
Oh, and it was one of those beers that's best served at about 45-50F. We chilled it and all agreed that it was better warmer.

I hate you. I haven't had beer in a few days because of studying. I have one final tomorrow then I'm home free. Did I mention that because I've had a beer at the anthill pub every day this quarter I get pints for a quarter on Friday?
