Rep Power: 0 Anyone know how to install Kaminari side skirts????
Just ordered them through www.mbautosport.com for $251 shipped! Just want to know how people have installed them. My friend will be painting them so I don't really want to have to pay for a shop to mount them. How hard can it be?? Any suggestions?? Anyone done this themselves??

Rep Power: 0 my questions are more along the lines of:
Will I have to drill holes in the side skirts?
Can I use any of the stock holes under my car?
Will I have to drill new holes in the underside of my car??
I don't have the side skirts yet, so I'm kinda guessing here. Maybe I'll know better when they come in and I can see them.

Rep Power: 0 Word of advice, take your time and do it right the first time.
The shop that put mine on didnt use much adhesive so the door would catch the skirt sometimes and make it peel from the body even worse. So I re-did the 2 skirts myself. Try to do it in moderate temp. Not too hot or cold, not sure where you are from
1. Clean the body where the skirts will make contact. Do it good, make sure it is dirt and lint free. And if your really motivated wax the area.
2. Use double sided tape (3M) through out the whole top perimeter.
3. Mount the skirt with a buddy and find something to keep the pressure on overnight. Youll have to be creative. I folded a few towels over the skirt and shut the door to keep the pressure on.

Rep Power: 0 the place that painted mine installed them and they put 2 screws in the top of the skirt and there are no predrilled holes on top so i was askin about it and he said that alot of people use just the pre drilled screws that are underneath and if they rub it has a tendency to kind of tear (which i guess it could but damn you would have to be scrappin for quite awhile ) and the only thing i was they would have done would have been to not use the screws that came with the kit because they stick up alil and they catch the bottom of the door which is rubbing off the paint on the screw and tiny bit on the door which eventually leads to rust. so if you put screws on top id say get some flat head or can't think of what its called countersink screws maybe dunno and get your buddy to stick the screws through a box so he can paint the top of the screw that would be showin

I've got kaminari skirts on... I just cleaned the area, used 3m double-sided tape and also put 2 screws in the front and the back wheel wells... Everything is fine except when it is cold out, the kit contracts and the door catches the skirts and peels the plastic (very annoying) so what I did instead of re-doing everything was to use a heat gun then re-mold the plastic and pur cold water to keep the new form... I never had to use screws for the bottom. Make sure the paint has dried or you will leave fingerprints in the clear coat. Hope that helps.
