Rep Power: 0 10w30 castrol full synthetic oil = maintenance required lights on
I used 10w30 castrol full synthetic oil on my 6000 miles 2k civic auto.
After i start my car the maintenance required lights beeps about 7 times. I know Honda says 5w20 or 5w25. should i change my oil to 5w20 immediately before something bad happen to my engine. Is the 7 beeps after i start my car normal? J ust a newbee ? Please don't flame on me. Yhank's anyway if someone can help me.

Rep Power: 0 Check your owners manual. I think it tells what the lights mean and how to clear them. I don't remember off hand just now.
You should probably get rid of that oil with the 10W soon, especially not good for cold starts.

Rep Power: 0 Thank's Bartkat, I just did what you said and the owner's manual on page 64 say between 8000 miles and 10000 miles this indicator will lights for 2 seconds when you first turn the ignition switch ON (II), and then flash for 10 seconds. Mine is 8k+ now and that's the reason why.
I guessed it has nothing to do with 10w30.
To RESET the INDICATOR
1.Turn off the engine.
2.Press and hold the select /reset button in the instrument panel then turn the ignition switch on (II).
3.Hold the button until the indicator resets (approximately 10 seconds)

I highly doubt that it's your motor oil that is causing the problem. Our cars can run 10w-30 just fine. Check to see if your filter and drain plug are screwed on tightly. I can almost guarantee that the 10w-30 is not the source of the problem.
