Rep Power: 0 how do i paint my door handles and mirrors?
i have an LX and i want my door handles and mirrors red... i could take it to a body shop and get it painted for 120 but i was wondering if i could just buy them somewhere because if i paint it, its not gauranteed that the paint will stick....can someone help me out?

Rep Power: 0 I thought about getting my door handles and mirror housings painted also (I haven't gone to a body shop yet to get an estimate). I looked into just ordering new handles and mirrors, but that will probably cost much more than getting them painted (majestic honda has the colored mirrors for 170 a pair, and the colored handles for 35 each).
Another idea I've seen floating around is DIY with Dupli-Color import spray paint ==> rough up the plastic with some fine grit sandpaper, prime it, then paint it. That may not be the best solution, but definitely the cheapest.
Let us know what you end up doing, I want to do the DIY, but I'm not sure how long the paint will last, and if it will look like in a year or two.

Rep Power: 0 i got mine done at the body shop for like 150$ ... it's worth it.. makes the car look much better.. anyways.. you could probably paint it yourself i you sand it down or sandblast it... then spray paint.. but yeah you wont get the same results.. .

Rep Power: 0 Just for $hits and giggles, call a couple dealerships and see how much the painted ones cost. If they are too much, go to a junk yard or scrap yard and see if you can find them there.

Rep Power: 0 I have an LX too in silver, but I was thinking of going for colored door handles only.
I don't want to spend too much money on this car. Minimal as usual.
And besides - have you seen the mitsubishi eclipse's car? Their mirrors are black(not plastic but still) but the door handles are color-coordinated. I think it gives a good look.
That's just me so yeah..
