Rep Power: 0 aem sri with dc sports tcs
i was thinking on getting an aem sri with dc sports tcs.
does anyone have this setup in their car?
does it sound good?
does it give you some power?
what do you think?
i have an automatic, and i'm determined to put some
power in my car so atleast i can hang with people
who want to race with me all the time.
i believe it's not worth getting a ticket to race, but i just
want to tease them a little. i'm more into show, but
i think i want to do a little of speed.
so let me know what you guys think? peace!

Rep Power: 0 Looks for pics of the filter design, make sure it's not bringing in hotter air than the stock intake. Although with a bigger filter you should feel some extra power. I have an AEM CAI, but friends of mine with SRI do notice something. You can get a Hayame intake for under $100. I would have got that if I had an auto.

Rep Power: 0 hayame intake seems cheap. i've learned my lesson
on buying for less money because i think it's best to pay
a lot for the best quality. i've heard that the best intake
is by aem. and they only make an sri for my automatic.
so let me know what you guys think. thanks.

Rep Power: 343 InJen SRI is cheaper than AEM's, does the same thing. AEM's is CARB exempt though, so if you live in california and worry about that stuff, you might want to consider it.
InJen SRI sounds good. I liked it. BUT, I lose fuel economy, and torque along the power curve... maybe I gained some hp here and there, but I didn't notice any change in acceleration speed, just my max speed dropped considerably. (doesn't seem like it can hit 120s anymore. max out at 110?)
I have an ex 5spd btw. I have the intake off right now, it fits an auto no problem... I'm considering selling it for like 80 bones. (retail 150?)
another thing. u can buy the cheap AEM imitations on ebay if you can't find a good price on the AEM. just swap the filter with a good K&N cone filter.
if you want power, I dont think these things provide it. at least, not an SRI anyway.
oh yeah, and there's that whole hydrolock issue with CAIs. (More prone on InJen's CAI, not much of an issue of AEM's CAI)
anyway, thats a lot of facts (I believe they're facts anyway) for you to absorb, I didn't give any details, but those are pretty much whats up.
Personally, I wouldn't get just intake and exhaust if you want a lil power. you have to go all out and buy full header and replace the cat too, to see any gains in our car, but thats my opinion. an intake alone isn't worth it in terms of performance. or a header. or an exhaust.
all of 'em together might yield some gains, but I duno if its worth the money.
