Rep Power: 0 Tinting Rear Glass? Two-piece Acceptable?
I'm thinking of getting tinting done to my sedan soon, and I was wondering if there are any drawbacks of using two-piece rear glass? Some local tinters use two-piece, and if there is no discernible difference then I'm indifferent.

Rep Power: 0 You may see the crease in the middle of the two sheets of tint... but if your shop is any good, they'll do a good job in hiding it or keeping it not-too-visible...
I paid the extra 20 bucks for it to be one peice

Rep Power: 311 I would get the one piece if I were you, I had my Integra tinted at a reputable shop and the used the 2 piece on the rear glass, looked like crap, you could totally see the big *** crease. They wouldn't fix it when i went back and complained to them.
For the civic I had it tinted at the dealer, totally worth it for the one piece

Rep Power: 0 Hmm, i guess it comes down to personal taste, but, IMO if there is even a chance it will look bad, then I wouldn't do it, only because I might not be able to get it redone for free or something, it's up to you, but i would go for one piece, especially if price is about the same

Rep Power: 0 I just got my tint done today and the guy used to pieces and you can't even notice, he did a great job and the brake light is also covered. He charged 120 for all the doors and the back. Great Tinter I must say.

Rep Power: 0 why would they do a two piece job anyway?
The people that did mine, fitted the tint film to the outside of the window, heat shrunk it, then applied it to the inside of the window. Looks great.

Rep Power: 0 why would a tinter use 2 pieces? look at the degree of angle on ur back window. in other words try taking a piece of notebook paper and making it cover a softball without ever bending or creasing, there are some cars you can do a one piece on and there are others you CANT do a 1 piece on. plus if you have defroster lines, all tinters make the cut in pieces on a line so you cant tell.

Rep Power: 0 The local tint guy that did mine, did it in one piece. I explained how they did the fitting on the outside first. If this local yokel can do it, then why not any tint shop?
When they fitted the tint film to the outside, they used a heat gun to shrink the film to conform to the contours of the window. I watched them do this. It didn't seem like a big deal to them.
