Rep Power: 0 why do u guys put short air intake on auto trannies?
btw i'm a new member. i see many of you with automatic transmission putting in short ram intake. does it really help you increase horsepower? if itz 1-3 horsepower, i don't think it worth $100 for the intake. if your going for looks it okay. but i see no point of putting it in if it does no good.... help me out with this
and check out my civic set up

Rep Power: 0 Dual exhaust will deplete horsepower... too much... just put a fake one on there... drive your car in the cold morning and have the drivers behind you in awe wondering why there's no hot air coming out of one of your mufflers.
EDIT: Unless you have a turbo, then go for another one.

Cool, picture...but anyways for your question...
The best thing you can do is go read are FAQ for this site, if what you are looking for is not in there, try running a search (remember to select all forums) then if you cannot find it there, then post it.
Trust me, you will get flamed and hated on until you reach that mythical "member" status, it only helps to take that extra time while your lurking to do a search, it will make you more knowledgable and help make the site run smoother.
Just trying to help you out man.

Rep Power: 0 the short ram is the only intake that will fit on the car......there is not enough clearance on the auto tranny to clear a CAI.....theoretically, the intake will give you better gas mileage and will improve throttle response...

Rep Power: 0 I wanna call bullshiit on the better gas mileage... since i have gotten my intake i have to fill up moer often and now w/ my exhaust it seems like the MPG is even lower.
The problem is that I am stepping on the gas a lot more to hear the growl... i bet once you put them on you'll be doing the same.

Rep Power: 0 of course a cai works in our autos, how do i know this? cause thats m set up. and just cuase its an auto doesnt mean we dont mod either, cause i do feel some good gains using that thing plus it sounds bad ***. the thing i dont get is why people would put duels on a 4 cylinder civic...i gues maybe for looks or something, but i dont see them gaining anything, not worth the $200+ in my opinoin...
