2.5 should be ok...u dont want to go any higher than that, because u might end up LOSING power than gain power

My local performance shop instructed me to not go larger than 2 and quarter......they've been in business tuning imports & domestics for over 15 years....I figure they know better than I do.

Unless forced induction is in your immediate future, I would go with a maximum of 2.25" diameter (naturally aspirated). Any higher and you'll wind up with a noticeable loss of torque / bottom end. Turbo systems & superchargers can utilize the larger diameter pipes more efficiently. Bigger is not always better.

2.5 is good for a turbo. Less than that is good for a naturally aspirated vehicle. 2.25 is good for nitrous or a supercharger. Anyway, something like that.

Hey man,

Go with a 2.25" pipes directly from your manifold. I find that gives the deepest sound withe the most low end torque. It's only worth it, though, if you go with a CAI to compliment the faster dispersion of exhaust. If you want to blow more exhaust out you have to suck more air in, or else you'll find holes torque output. 2.5" pipes are great for turbo or nitrous kits!

Yeah guys keep in mind even if you have 2.5+ a few bends will slow the air right down and will act the same as a 2.25
