Rep Power: 787 This is the only case where I would stick to the Honda tranny fluid. Don't use anything else. Just drain it out and pour new Honda fluid in.

straight from redlines site..
MTL
Popular in Acura and Honda applications, this 70W80 GL-4 Gear Oil (SAE 5W30/10W30 engine oil viscosity) is designed for use in manual transmissions and transaxles. Provides excellent protection of gears and synchronizers and its balanced slipperiness provides a perfect coefficient of friction, allowing easier shifting.
so it sounds like it should work?

Rep Power: 0 Use the redline mtl. The honda mtf is just plain motor oil with additives. The price difference isn't much, and you will be better off in the cold with the redline.

Rep Power: 0 Get it. I've put it in and have had no problem. You should know that Redline is a VERY dependable and reputable company for motor oils and transmission fluids. I'd buy their synthetic oil if I could afford it.

Rep Power: 0 Transmission fluid for automatics should be changed every 30 or 50 thousand miles. I can't remember, it's one or the other.
For manuals - probably never. It can last the life of the car.

Rep Power: 0 I don't think there is one and it's almost like changing oil. I did it once with a friend. It's similar to changing the oil. From what I remember, there is a bolt on the side of the tranny and you stick a tube in the hole to let the old fluid drain out into an oil pan. Once drained, take a funnel with a long tube. Put the funnel over the transmission and lead the tube into the hole where the fluid goes in. (I know this is possible if you have an intake. If not, I guess the stock intake might need to be removed temporarily? It's not hard.) Start pouring. You pour the fluid till it tops off and put the screw back on. I believe that's it. If anyone wants to correct me, feel free cuz I've only done it once.

Rep Power: 249 DIY link here....
I am going to change mine and put in redline in a couple weeks... Was looking for a DIY, and found it at this site:
http://www.overboost.com/story.asp?id=148
This is for a 95 Integra GSR, but the procedure for a 6th or 7th gen civic is exactly the same. The capacity is a bit different, though. I especially like the litle pump for fluid he got, makes it a helluva lot easier....
one caveat... Loosen and remove the filler bolt BEFORE the drain bolt. It's always nice to know you can refill it before you drain it and have no wheels
