should i install alarm myself???

ok. i used to have a clifford alarm. after 3 years, is broken for some reason. i was stupid enough to throw out the brain. after the that, i found out it's life time warranty

but anyway. since i had 2 break in before. i want to get AT LEAST SOMETHING for my ride right now. i was on ebay and found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=14934
i know this is sh*t. but i am out of cash. that;s all i all i have at the moment. my MIAN QUESTION is how hard to install it myself. i know i know this is a stupid question. but i just want to see if anyone here could give me some good advice before i mess up me car.........

I work in a car electronics store, and believe me, alarms are not easy to install. It will usually take a professional 5-7 hours to install and alarm/keyless/remote start. Installing the alarm will mean you will have to cut into your ignition/power lock wires. Unless you have a fairly good knowledge of what you are doing, I would not go into this having never installed an alarm before. How much experience do you have with car electronics?

yeah, not to mention you might mess up the electrical wiring and who knows what could go wrong next.

i was gonna write up a DIY for alarms on 7thgens, but i asked around and no one was interested, so i didnt bother. if you already had an alarm in the car, the hard part has already been done for you. it would just be a matter of figuring out the differences in wire colors between the clifford and your new alarm.

i know my stuff, im a MECP certified installer, and if it takes 5-7 hours to do a remote start/alarm in a civic....you should consider your career choice a little more carefully.

Alarms are very tricky, I helped install one in a buddy's integra and it took us 5 hours to find out that one wire was causing us problems because of a bad connection. Just go get it done so that you can have somebody to blame if it decides to mess up.
