From Cold Air To Short Ram?

Well I have a generic intake made by Topspeed. It is a two peice cold air. Would it make any difference if I were to take off the cold air extension? Thus making it into a short ram?

Cool. Yeah we got the same mods. I'm gonna go take off the extension. How is the top end effected with a short ram?

Alright I just got back from a little test drive. Call me crazy, but I like it without the cold air extension. Other than sounding better, the car doesn't bog down when you suddenly floor it at a low rpm. The mid range is better also, just while driving it seemed to be a little more responsive, just enough to notice the difference. The top end felt the same also.

I like it. I now have low end torque again lol. When I had the CAI, I would have to wait for the rpms to build up to around 4,000 and then punch it in first for it not to bog down, but with the short ram, I can just floor it at around 2,000 rpm and it will pick up. Getting around traffic it felt more responsive also. Seriously, i'm not bull sh*tting.
