I'm looking into getting an Octane R34 body kit (urethane, of course). The only problem is, in some pictures I've seen the side skirts look completely attrocious. However, in others, they look good. I need to know how they really look; because I might be getting some different skirts if they look like the terrible one.
Here's a picture where they look good:

And here's a picture where they look bad:
http://thecivicstore.com/Merchant2/m...ry_Code=OCTANE
Don't tell me they look the same; in the first one they look straight up and down, while in the second one they're DEFINITELY sticking out to the side obsenely. Anyone with this kit, please tell how it really looks!

from all the kits ive sen they look like the first one. Ive seen three in person and they all look pretty flush. If i could however make a suggestion i wouldnt get the OCtane sides unless your mold them to the car. Might want to look into somethng else that will go with it. However if you chose to go with the OCtane sides they look like the first pic.

ya i have seen both also. i think there are actually some members on here with the second set. i personally like the first better and when i get mine i am defeniatly gonna mold them, it looks so much better and give kind of a wide body look.

so whats the difference between the two? They look like the same kit...is it a different way of mounting it? if so...definitely first one. Gonna mold it when I get the money...definitely not right now.

i think the difference may be the vents and the fact that the second one doesnt go up as far in the back part of the skirt.

or maybe even the difference is they had different molds for the fiberglass and urathane (sp?) models of the side skirts. that may be it.

I love the R33 front! But I don't like any kit that has two exaust outlets in it.
My choice is to use the R33 front with Kaminari sides and rear.

ok; what someone said about it cracking; did you get fiberglass? From what I've heard from many places is that fiberglass cracks and chips like crazy; thats why I'm going with urethane. And if the difference between the 2 pics is just install preference, then I'm good. I don't really like the look of the r33 though, its r34 for me.

by the way, by "major work" on your body kit, how much money are you talking about?
Also, what material are the stock front and rear bumpers made out of? just for reference.

i have the r34 kit and love it. i put the kit on myself and it is flush with the car. the white civic is just a poor install job. my kit is fiberglass and was cracked and chiped bad when i got it. the body shop fixed it and painted it for 400 bucksa though cuz i knew the guy. I believe that if you get the urethane r34 kit the sides dont go up as high as the fiberglass sides. hope that helps.

that white one looks retarted.. im relaly hoping that was an early prototype or something. cuz the octane / r34 kit looks but better than that if professionally installed.

i think some guy earlier hit the nail on the head; its all in the install. If you install if half-assed, the end result is fugly. If you either take your time and do it right or get it done by a pro, then it looks swiggen. By the way; which would you recommend? Is it worth the money to have it installed, or should I do it myself. If I did it myself, I would be sure to spend the extra time to get it looking like the first pic.

You have to test fit it because if there is a part that you want to trim down after it has already been painted, that is bad news
