so my wifes 07 lx sedan will struggle to start from time to time like a bad battery but if you pull the key out and try it again it will fire right up like nothings wrong. (most of the time)
battery is only a few months old.
alternator and starter tested good when battery was replaced.
any help would be greatly appriciated.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

turns over slowly as if it the battery is dead and needs charged. then take the key out of the ignition, wait a few seconds, and then try again and it starts like normal.

Any buildup on the battery posts? Clean terminal connections.
Check starter connections.
Check all chassis, engine and starter ground connections for looseness.
Bring to auto parts store:
Battery checked for charging ability and cranking output.
Check alternator for output voltage.

Re: intermittent start problems.
Beware of aftermarket units, there's a lot of junk out there.
If you ever want a Honda reman starter, they won't accept an aftermarket part as a core, you'll be charged the core fee if you don't have a real Honda labeled starter.

Re: intermittent start problems.
See if your town has a rebuilder who can overhaul your original starter? (Warehouse Rebuilders, maybe?)

finally got around to replacing the starter, which got worse, but i have created a new problem.
i used a memery saver plugged into the obd2 port before disconnecting the battery, replaced starter, then reconnected battery. the car fires up every time now, BUT the radio is completly blank not asking for a code and my key fob will not work the locks, in fact the locks do not even work without the key in acc.
any ideas as to what i messed up?
thanks in advance.
