Question New head unit settings

Ok I went out and had a new cd receiver and some decent speakers installed and now trying to figure out what settings to use.

it has a high pas filter that changes slope level by -12 or -24 db for 50, 63, 80, 100, 125, 160, 200 hz

also has an equalizer that ranges -6 to +6 in 80hz, 250hz, 800 hz, 2.5khz, 8khz

I have been playing with it but still confused. I can make 2 custom EQ curves and there are 5 preset ones that can't be changed.

Any help??

Re: New head unit settings

most of that is to just tune the sound how you want. I'm using the HPF because I have blown stock speakers and the low fqz make them rattle too much.

If you have subs you can also use the HPF so that you're small speakers aren't trying to play sounds at 60 or 80hz without proper power.

But the settings are whatever you want. You can probably see the EQ curve for the presets and then tune it from there. I like the "powerful" setting for mine but with a little less bass to save the speakers.
