I have a 2008 Civic EX-L sedan and want to upgrade the existing speakers. Its has six speakers, two tweeters, two in the front doors, and two in the back deck lid. I want to upgrade the two front doors and the two rear deck speakers. Can anyone confirm the size of these? I'm getting mixed signals of 5 1/4" or 6 1/2" and whether I need adapter plates. I'm also looking for model / manufacturers of speakers that have been a success for someone. Thanks.

I recently replaced mine (2007 LX) and they were all 6.5"

You can re-use the speaker wires for the tweeters, but my car didn't have these installed and I'm not sure if those wires go to the deck or to the door speakers (as would be the case in most traditional component speaker setups). If you order the speakers through crutchfield they'll send you the adapter, wiring harness, and instructions for free.
