Voltage Stabiliser for my 6 months 1.8 Civic

Hi, fellow Civic enthusiats & hard core techics,

I'm driving a 6 months Civic 1.8l. Great drive, lovely dash, power,..... The average FC is about 12.5L/km on combined city/highway cycle.

Lately, my neighbour alerted me to the benefits of installing Voltage stabiliser. He is driving a 5 months old Stream with 17" alloys. Claimed his pre-VS days saw 250km to half tank but achieved closed to 300km to half tanks post VS installation, citing power increase, improved torque, etc.

My Civic is still stock condition. I have no complains. But would like to know if VS really helps? A friend recommended the Pivot Raizan VS (jap-made), instead of the UTR EVO series (taiwan-made, more expensive).

Would be lovely if FC can really improve after instal, power? happy enough at present. Please shower me with your words of wisdom.

Warmest regards

Jensen

yea actually they do work well. I installed on my 2007 civic 1.8. But I installed it after putting in a cold air intake. so i dont exactly know if it works as well with OEM intakes. But if ya decide to do it, it easy to install once you figure ot what wire is what.. lol

Re: Voltage Stabiliser for my 6 months 1.8 Civic

Hi Guys,

Appreciate your views. I glad to share to after 3 weeks, my FC improves quite a bit. My stock FD mileage was 11.6km/l on average. After 3 weeks, with no change in driving pattern, I am logging 12.5-13km/l. I would recommend any sceptics to try it out. Save some $$$, save Gaia! Cheerio

nope, no improvement. mine still starts in 3 cranks every time. (unless i turn the key really fast, then it takes 4 cranks).

Re: Voltage Stabiliser for my 6 months 1.8 Civic

Well, my FD starts 1st time with every crank. So I can't answer to the query. But upon the VS installation, notice engine slightly quieter (mental effect?) and less pressure on pedal needed.

Cheerio.
