New Tire Purchase

Recently had some maint done on my car and here are the tire thread readings from the dealer:

All Season Tires: √ 6/23 or more √ 4/32 to 5/32 (this is the way it shows on the inspection sheet) I am guessing if they needed to be replace they would have told me. Mind you the guy doing this is not a mechanic, they do oil changes that kind of stuff so maybe they just go by a tire thread chart for when tires need to be replaced.

Tire Condition:

LF: Thread 5/32nds
RF: Thread 4/23nds
LR: Thread 6/32nds
RR: Thread 5/32nds

Tires are always rotated at 10,000 kms. They are Firestone Affinity
P195 65/R15 89H M+S, set came with car when purchased in 2014. 70,000 kms on them, to me their is some visible wear and I was wondering if the forum thinks the thread readings from the dealer are good enough for a few thousand clicks of highway driving this summer on vacation. Is 70k km's good for this tire, also would it be a good idea if replacement is needed to just buy the exact tire again. Not sure if factory installed tires are only available at thaat time due to the lower grade they generally are.

Thanks for any input, Paul.

Re: New Tire Purchase

you're getting near the end of it, most places will recommend replacement around 2/32".
Do you put snow tires on in the winter?
I would just put the snows on a few weeks early and get new summer tires in the spring

On my 8th Gen Civic DX its got a grippy set of 4 Pirelli P4"s all seasons bought them Last Year On Sale at Costco.
Very happy with them, they perform well with little to no road noise.
