2007 Civic - wheels, spacers, suspension, etc

Hello,

First time post.

Bought some 2015 Civic Si wheels (225/40/18/7.5) for my son's 2007 Civic (205/55/16/6.5).

What kind of clearance from calipers will he have? Add 10mm or 15mm spacers? I'd like to have the wheels no more than flush with fenders (probably a few mm clearance at least).

How much of a lowering would be good? Again, not looking for a major drop.

Since you already bought the wheels, see how they fit. Measure if they don't fit and order spacers accordingly. Once the wheels are mounted you can measure for a drop with a tape measure.

Do you have the wheel offsets?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

I bet they clear the calipers by a mile.

Ugh. Actually a little rubbing on caliper.

So to figure out spacer size, simply measure remaining space from tire to fender?

Correct.

For lowering measure the gap between the fender and top of the tire. Be sure to factor in suspension travel when measuring for drop and spacers. To far out and to much drop and the tire will rub.
