Rep Power: 0 rear brakes 07 Civic - compressing the piston back into the caliper????????
I've got the old pads off the rear and now I'm trying to compress the piston back into the caliper with no luck.
Whats the trick? Does it get turned back in? Clockwise or counter? A special tool needed?
thanks !!!!!!!

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Smashing it with a C clamp is guaranteed to ruin it.

Ive always used a c clamp when i work on my brakes and any other brake jobs ive done, are the 8th gen caliper pistons different?

The rear calipers incorporate the parking brake mechanism into them. You cannot simply push the piston in, it must be screwed in.
90% of all calipers that have a parking brake mechanism built in use this method.
