Daytime Running Lights

Hello,
New member here. 2011 Civic LX-S.
This morning I pulled up and parked the car at the store. While the engine was running, the ignition got turned in between the on/off position briefly when I decided to leave it on so I could roll the windows down.

So at that point both of the DRL's went out together (I could see them in the storefront reflection). It was right when the key got turned back into the on position when the car was still running that they went out.

I checked the fuse and both lamps with a meter and they are all good.

Both headlights and high-beams working.

Can anyone advise me as to what might I look at next?

Is it a special bulb that maybe the drl's can be out but the high-beams still work?

Thanks,
Ben

Re: Daytime Running Lights

Single filament bulbs utilized.

The MICU unit is the control on 8th gens (Inside under-dash fusebox)

Is there a separate DRL fuse ??

I checked the DRL fuse in the under-dash fuse box and it is good.

Re: Daytime Running Lights

I released the parking brake and the drl's came on. I did not know parking brake dis-ables the drl.
Very simple.
Thank you very much for your reply!

Great,

I wish they would make it so re-applying the hand brake would make them go off until it's released again.
