I am repairing a 2015 Civic that never made it off the lot. Late one Sat night/early Sunday morning, a one-drink-too-many driver left the highway and drove over the engine hood of this car. Sheet metal damage only but I am getting 7 messages on the dash screen. They are:
Check brake system
Check ABS system
Check VSA system
Check Hill Start assist
Check DRL system
Check power steering system
Check DRL system [repeated]
Just about all of the above systems are working fine so I am thinking all the warnings are simply from the car being all "shook up".
Question: Can I reset any or all of these warnings or do I need to take it to the dealer?

Do you have a scanner that can access all of the above systems?
The dealer does.




DRL uses the high beam headlights, make sure the high beam lights light up when the car is running (highs on dim) and low beam headlights on (highs off), and high beams on (highs bright)

Brake/ABS/VSA/hill start are all related to the ABS system. EPS issue may or may not be related to the ABS faults but they all share data and electronic info for VSA operation. One single fault could turn on all those lights.

I had a little accident where the right bar was damaged (wheel rim broken also). I have 4 of those: "Check VSA System, Check Hill Start assist, Check power steering system" and Check TPMS system"

I also bought a scanner. There were no system errors in the log. The car runs perfectly. I have to keep clearing those messages every time I start the car.

if they come back, there is actual issues that need to be addressed before you reset them again.
1- have someone check if battery and charging (alternator) good. Low voltage/current causes havoc in electronics.
2- after and accident? sensors can get knocked out of place, they will need to be checked.

one of the common causes is wires chewed by rodents, mind you.
so, check wiring, sensor, etc
no easy answer
