08 civic with dead battery cant shift to neutral.. Help please
Hi, the topic pretty much says it all. I just want to get home and i cant get a jump because it wont let me put the car in neutral... left the car dome light on and im screwed. please help!!

There is a little bitty oval shaped cover in front of the gear shifter, just to the right side where you can't see it very well from the drivers seat. Pry it out. Stick a key in the hole and then you can move the shifter.

Why do you need the car in Neutral to get a jump?..if its in park you are fine..Just hook up the jumper cables and start your car...
